BYRON AT BYRON RESORT

Capacity:  55m3/day ADWF
Product:   Waste water from accommodation and restaurant
Treatment System:   SBR (Sequenced Batch Reactor)

Located on the North coast of New South Wales the tourist town of Byron Bay is known as one of the most environmentally conscious regions in Australia.

This Harvey Norman developed 5 star resort required a treatment plant that:

Was able to meet the strict requirements of the local council.
Be simplistic in it's operation
Blend into the resorts surroundings
Low noise and odour emissions
Consume a very small footprint

The required location for the plant presented real challenges.  The plant is positioned between the car park and accommodation units with clients for this 5 star resort walking directly past the plant.  In fact the plant became such a curiosity that it had to be signed.

The only thing that seperated the apartments from the Sewage Treatment Plant, is the width of the tennis court which doubles as the wet weather storage tank.  With these tight constraints the Alpha-Jet exceeded all expectations in output results and impact on the resorts daily business.

Consistently running to near capacity the plant continues to achieve outstanding results.
